The pleasure of a lakeside vacation is offered by the picturesque Quisisana Resort, located in the foothills of the White Mountains. It is noteworthy that it recruits its staff from the best schools and theaters in the country: during the day they perform standard staff duties (housekeeping, dining, babysitting, beach services), and in the evening they participate in real performances: Broadway musicals, chamber and piano concerts, vocal performances and children's matinees.

The resort offers guests a variety of accommodation options: from private studios to luxury cottages with several bedrooms and covered verandas from which you can admire the view of Kezar Lake. There are no telephones, internet, or televisions in the rooms or cottages to give guests more of a break from the hustle and bustle of the outside world, but otherwise, all of these amenities are available in the main lodge.

A great all-inclusive Maine vacation involves an abundance of on-site activities: two sandy beaches with a variety of beach games and toys, a mini-golf course, tennis courts, a game room, children's activities, and an abundance of watercraft for fun on the water. Guests can also enjoy water skiing, power boating, lake tours, massages, and relaxing on the covered veranda or deck in the main house with a glass of wine for an additional fee.

Heritage Schooner, Rockland

This superb all-inclusive Maine vacation will let you throw your troubles away (literally). You'll get to cruise aboard the schooner Heritage. This windjammer, built in 1938 by two captains, cruises Penobscot Bay. It is now owned by former first mate Ben Welzenbach and chef Sean Grimes, who are now its captains.

Cruises on the schooner last from three to six days, during which the ship calls at more secluded locations, such as ports on undeveloped islands and remote fishing villages. Cruise guests will visit local fishing villages filled with original art and culture, observe seals, seabirds, and porpoises, and stop in hidden coves in the evening to enjoy coastal wildlife, beautiful sunsets, and flashing lighthouses.

The highlight of the cruise is the food – restaurant-quality meals made from the freshest seafood. Try the lobster casserole, typically prepared on a quiet, unspoiled island, and freshly baked desserts and cookies. Later in the day, guests can enjoy drinks and sing with the captains during live music nights.

Heritage cabins are decorated in a rustic style, and most are designed for two guests with either a double bed or two bunks. A couple of single cabins are also available. Onboard, there are showers with plenty of fresh hot water, a galley/lounge with skylights and cushioned seating, and a common room with a library and games. Cruise guests can be 12 years of age and older.

Bradford Camps

A traditional Maine sports camp in the North Woods Wilderness can also serve as one of the best all-inclusive vacation options when you need a detox from modern technology and the challenges around you. Bradford Camps has no cell service, television, or internet – you'll be completely cut off from the outside world so that nothing distracts you from connecting with the wilderness. Since 1890, sports enthusiasts and those who want to reconnect with nature: fishing, hunting, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors have been welcomed here.

Bradford's main lodge is equipped with electricity from a generator, and surrounding it are eight log cabins on the shores of Lake Munsungan. All are equipped with gas lanterns and wood stoves. Lake Mansungan remains undeveloped and is nine miles long, and the nearby waterways are great for paddling, swimming, and fishing for lake trout and salmon.

The surrounding forest also provides plenty of interesting activities. The most accessible option is hiking on the nearby trails. But if you want an exclusive experience, you can take a seaplane tour, paddle a waterway in the Allagash Wilderness, or go on a guided moose safari.

Getting to the camp is sometimes difficult due to weather conditions. It can be reached by rough logging roads or by seaplane.

Attean Lake Lodge

Another option for the best measured all-inclusive vacation getaways to get away from the hustle and bustle of civilization is located on Birch Island in Maine. The island is 24 acres in size and located southwest of Jackman, and the place of interest here is the modest Attean Lake Lodge resort. The lake is surrounded by over 35,000 acres of mountain land protected by the Maine Forestry Society. Today, this wonderful family-owned business is owned by Barrett and Josie Holden, the fourth generation of owners.

The resort provides its guests with a warm welcome, comfortable cabins, and hearty meals. The cabins have living and sleeping quarters, a wood stove, kerosene lanterns, gas lighting, and porches with beautiful lake views. They do not have cell service or electricity, but guests can always use Wi-Fi and charging outlets in the main cottage, which is solar-powered.

Guests at the resort are provided with a variety of outdoor adventure opportunities: canoe, paddle board, and kayak trips to the mainland, boating and water skiing on the lake, sandy beach, hiking to remote bodies of water, on-site flower, herb, and vegetable gardens, trout, bass or salmon fishing, etc. Breakfast and dinner are served on the terrace in the main lodge, and you can pack a lunch to snack on during outdoor activities.

A secluded resort nestled on 135 wooded acres near Sebago Lake has been operated by three generations of the Porta family. It's another family affair that has created a relaxing and sophisticated option for great all-inclusive Maine vacations, combining proximity to nature and luxurious amenities.

Sebago Lake is the second largest lake in the state and serves as the drinking water supply for nearby Portland. Resort guests can stay in lodges or beautiful cottages with porches overlooking the water and wood-burning fireplaces. Trails connecting the cottages will also lead you to tennis courts, an outdoor fitness center, disc golf, beaches, docks, and a dry sauna. Jet skiing, wakeboarding, water skiing, and children's activities are included: daily junior guests can attend Kids Camp for kids ages 4 to 6 and Adventure Camp for kids ages 7 and up.

Main meals, including a 5-course dinner, take place in the dining room, but there are also culinary traditions that require other locations: lakeside Cookout Point lunches (and some breakfasts and dinners), an island lunch with a transfer on the 1945-built cruiser Tykona II, a Saturday buffet, and a Friday night picnic party with baked lobster.
