The Aerial is an all-inclusive luxury resort in the British Virgin Islands, from its unique approach to wellness to its charitable missions
If you've ever dreamed of dropping everything for relaxation on your own private island, we've found the paradise for your best vacation. The luxurious The Aerial resort in the British Virgin Islands has opened up an exclusive all-inclusive vacation option for travelers. To get here, guests can arrive at Terrence B. Lettsom International Airport or take a ferry ride from St. Thomas to Tortola, and then the resort will take them by private boat transfer to the island.
The layout and small number of guests make a stay at Aerial, BVI feel like a vacation on your own island. The resort focuses on deep wellness, which is the leitmotif of every activity and moment you spend on the property. Even the rooms have been given inspirational names such as "Dream", "Joy" or "Wisdom" instead of the usual designations. The resort's grounds are a beautiful setting of over 43 acres, dotted with lush hills, white-sand beaches and rocky shores. Yet the resort can accommodate only 34 guests, which contributes to the feeling of a personal slice of tropical paradise. It's enhanced by top-notch amenities: a landscaped pool overlooking the Sir Francis Drake Channel, a private beach filled with a variety of water toys, and fabulous locally-inspired cuisine from the chef team.
Aerial, BVI is positioning itself not just as an all-inclusive private beach retreat in the Caribbean, but refers to itself as a new breed of "destination luxury" resorts, the experience of staying at which includes wellness treatments in a gracious setting and special experiences. This is not an option that many resorts offer, promising to change your life with days on a sunny beach and spa services. Aerial, BVI offers a deeper immersion that includes wholesome meals, including island specialties, and a program of activities such as hikes along the coast, sound baths, and a visit to Redemption Ranch where you can meet a family of zebras and horses during individual and group activities.
The island is filled with thoughtful elements and beautiful whimsical details that are part of the resort's personalized approach, created by a team of staff led by owner Brittney Turner. She founded Aerial in her 21s and has since built the brand from several companies, including Aerial Development, a real estate development company, and Aerial Recovery, a nonprofit organization with goals of responding to natural and man-made disasters, fighting human sex trafficking and supporting military veterans and first responders. Under the latter theme, it created the Heal the Heroes initiative, part of which is a year-long program to adapt to civilian life: veterans are given a retreat at The Aerial and then helped to find a new vocation as dedicated humanitarian operators to respond to natural disasters and participate in rescue missions. All of this allows The Aerial in the British Virgin Islands to distinguish itself among private health resorts as a "force for good," as Turner calls his project.
Rooms
The Aerial features 17 unique, individually designed rooms, housed in five residences. Each room is designed to create a special atmosphere, which is reflected in its name. For example, Love is a spacious suite with a private patio overlooking the pool and nearby islands, a large bed, an outdoor shower and a private courtyard – perfect for a romantic getaway.
The decoration of all rooms is original, but what they have in common is the use of natural materials and a palette of warm hues that emphasize the natural beauty of the island. All the important little things are included, from toiletries to sunscreen, after-sun lotion and insect repellent, so that nothing will disturb the idyll of your vacation. All of the resort's rooms are gorgeous, but there are some of the most exceptional options. For example, the rooftop Dream has a private terrace, while the oceanfront Mindfulness Villa will have you falling asleep to the sound of the waves and gazing out at the ocean from your private teepee.
Food & Beverage
Aerial's culinary approach is unlike other all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean. Everything here is prepared in a way that is good for you. Refined sugar, food coloring and preservatives are eliminated in food and beverages, with dishes tasting so delicious that it seems counterintuitive to use them at all. The choice of beverages is carefully justified and verified, with no less attention paid to non-alcoholic options than to alcohol.
Breakfast kicks off with a wellness drink and chilled items like oatmeal and fruit, followed by three a la carte menu items to choose from, such as caramelized banana protein waffles, avocado toast, and eggs huevos rancheros. At breakfast, guests choose menu options for lunch and dinner. The freshest seafood, a superb range of flavors and top-notch food quality, as well as beautiful restaurants with stunning views along the coast, make every meal a special part of the experience.
Impressions and Amenities
Aerial has all the amenities of a luxury all-inclusive tropical resort on a private island: there is a beautiful private white sand beach, a gorgeous landscaped pool and an abundance of interesting places to stay for a while and enjoy the mesmerizing scenery. Surfboards, clear kayaks, snorkels, seabobs and other gear are available on the beach to help you conquer the waves and explore the clear waters of the Caribbean Sea. The beach also has lounge chairs, a bar with swings, and hammocks.
A daily program of activities at the resort helps guests diversify their days under the sun and on the waves with interesting entertainment. Sunrises and sunsets can be spent doing beach yoga, while afternoons are spent exploring hiking trails to take in the beauty of the island. To keep your body toned, you can also work out at the outdoor gym, which uses wood equipment. In addition, the resort has many picturesque and cozy corners to practice meditation.
One of the most magical places on the island that will leave an amazing experience is Redemption Ranch. Here you can take a tour where you can meet the animals, pet and feed them, learn how to build trust with them and care for them, such as brushing them. And of course, who can resist a kiss with a zebra? Further on request, you can also ride horses on the trails or along the coast and try horse therapy.
All of the animals (horses, zebras and ponies) that live at the ranch have previously been abused or abandoned. With the help of the ranch staff, they have worked their way to healing and now help people deal with their challenges. These animal "rescuers" can be part of your journey to your own healing.
Rescue
Spa treatments are one of the best ways to relax, revitalize and put your mind at ease. But the sea breeze, the quiet splash of the waves, and the mesmerizing scenery around you open up a new level of enjoyment in a spa experience. The spa is one of the main components of the experience at Aerial Resort, BVI, and it is impossible to have a complete overview of this luxurious hideaway without it. Its spa is a true oasis where healing, well-being and mindfulness will create perfect harmony.
The spa is located on a private beachfront property. The journey into a world of relaxation will begin with a meeting with a wellness therapist who will help define your goals, as each treatment is customized to the guest's needs. His clients can choose a signature customized massage, for which a variety of styles and techniques are used. Each session begins with the application of a wellness elixir based on a locally sourced oil of choice, and concludes with moisturizing and rejuvenating fruit and a soothing tea. Those wanting a deep full body therapy can book the OTO CBD treatment. It includes a sensory massage infused with luxurious CBD oils to quickly relax muscles and sound therapy.
The spa uses only natural, organic and vegan ingredients for its treatments. The only thing that may confuse you when visiting this chic spa is that you will definitely find it extremely difficult to find anything better in the future.
Sustainability and non-profit
The Aerial, BVI resort is unique because of not only its luxury offerings, but also its mission to support those in need. 100% of the island's gift store revenue, The Giving Shop, goes to The Aerial Recovery, a non-profit organization that focuses on problems of human trafficking, healing veterans, and man-made and natural disasters.
The Aerial also partnered with the nonprofit organization Green VI. The goal of this agreement was to incorporate eco-friendly practices into resort operations, from composting and the use of Moke electric vehicles to smaller issues such as eco-friendly coffee pods and large format toiletries.
Location
The Aerial resort is located on Buck Island, which can be reached by boat from Tortola in the British Virgin Islands in just a few minutes. This gives guests great access to the airport and the opportunity to explore nearby towns and their attractions. At the same time, the island is secluded enough to provide you with welcome tranquility alone with the beautiful scenery around you.
Terrence B International Airport. Lettsom (EIS) is the closest place to the island that can be reached by airplane. Shuttle service from there to the hotel is included in the rate.
Best prices
The Aerial resort in the British Virgin Islands has created an enhanced all-inclusive package starting at $950 per night. Each element of this package is aligned with the goal of restoring health and enhancing the guest's well-being. The package covers meals, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages, private transportation from the airport, activities and on-site amenities. That said, each day's schedule at the resort will include a different activity: ranch hikes, sound baths, and amenities such as spa treatments and hippotherapy sessions are available for an additional fee.
